Exiting the Pool Safely

Natural Water Entry and Exits
-
Entering and exiting the water properly helps prevent slips, falls, and injuries.
-
Different water environments require different entry and exit techniques.

-
Using the Steps or Ladder
-
Always hold onto the handrails when using pool steps or a ladder.
-
Step in slowly and check the water depth before going further.
-
-
Sit-and-Slide Entry (Best for young children or uncertain swimmers)
-
Sit on the edge of the pool.
-
Turn onto your stomach and lower yourself in while holding the edge.
-
Let go when ready, keeping hands on the wall for support.
-
-
Feet-First Entry (For deep areas where diving is not allowed)
-
Step or jump in with feet first, never headfirst.
-
Always check for depth and obstacles before jumping.
-
-
Diving Entry (Only where permitted)
-
Dive only in marked deep-water areas (at least 9 feet deep).
-
Never dive into shallow or murky water.
-

-
Using the Ladder or Steps
-
Hold onto the rails and step up carefully.
-
-
Climbing Out Without a Ladder (For pools without steps or ladders)
-
Swim to the wall, grab the edge.
-
Use the "elbow, elbow, knee, knee" method to climb out safely.
-

-
Wading Entry (For lakes, rivers, or ocean swimming)
-
Walk in slowly to check for depth and hidden objects.
-
Shuffle feet to avoid sudden drop-offs or marine life.
-
-
Jumping In (Feet First Only)
-
Always check water depth before jumping.
-
Never jump into unknown or murky water.
-
-
Exiting Natural Water
-
Swim toward a designated exit area (dock, ladder, shore).
-
Use strong kicks and arms to push through currents if necessary.
-
Be aware of slippery or rocky surfaces when exiting.
-
